Why do we need to cut belly fat?…..Who is it suitable for?

  • Tummy tuck or tummy tuck surgery is a surgery to remove excess fat and loose skin from the abdomen to make it flat and firm again. These problems are often caused by the skin stretching for a long time until it loses its elasticity, such as from obesity or pregnancy. If there is a rapid weight loss or weight loss, or after giving birth, the skin layer on the abdomen will not be able to shrink back immediately, causing the abdomen to protrude and become a sagging belly. These problems can be solved with tummy tuck surgery.
  • However, not everyone can have a tummy tuck surgery. For women who have a slightly protruding belly, it is recommended that they exercise regularly as the best solution. Tummy tuck surgery is suitable for those who have severe obesity, a very sagging belly, a lump of abdominal tissue after childbirth, a scar after a cesarean section, a wrinkled belly, or stretch marks. Tummy tuck surgery can be performed in several ways, depending on the problem and suitability of each individual.

Highlights of Tummy Tuck Surgery

MAXi Cosmetic Surgery In tummy tuck surgery, the abdominal muscles are stitched inside to tighten from the inside. The external incision is stitched with 3 layers of special stitches, allowing the wound to get wet 48 hours after surgery. Easy to care for and fast recovery.

Perform a tummy tuck with self-administered analgesics (PCA)

What is PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)?

Simply put, a pain relief pump is a technology that can manage pain with a self-press control system, allowing pain relief to be given as often as needed without having to wait for a nurse to give the medication. The PCA machine has a button to press when feeling pain or discomfort, which will give the desired amount of pain relief under the amount of water determined by the anesthesiologist for safety. After abdominal surgery, pain relief will be given through an IV (Intravenous PCA (IV PCA)).

Tummy Tuck surgery combined with Vaser liposuction

  • Many patients who come to consult for tummy tuck surgery have questions about whether they want to have liposuction at the same time. For those who have a lot of accumulated fat and have sagging abdomen, patients can have a tummy tuck or tummy tuck surgery at the same time as liposuction. For example, some patients have a lot of upper abdomen fat, and the back flanks look flabby when wearing clothes. They can have liposuction on the upper abdomen and back flanks. However, for the sagging lower abdomen and stretch marks, they need a lower abdomen lift. Both can be done at the same time. For example, patients have tummy tuck surgery but also have liposuction on the waist, resulting in a narrow, S-shaped waist and a curvy figure. Or they can have liposuction on the upper arms and thighs at the same time.

Postoperative care for tummy tuck surgery, MAXi Cosmetic Surgery style

  • After leaving the operating room, there will be a band in the abdomen and two drainage tubes.
  • On the second day after surgery, the doctor will loosen the bandage and remove the drainage tube. Then, the doctor will continue to wear the abdominal bandage. Wear it day and night. It is recommended to continue wearing it for another month. After that, you can wear it according to your preference.
  • After leaving the hospital, you can live a normal life. Be careful not to stretch too quickly. Try to stretch as much as you can in the first 1-2 weeks.
  • After surgery, you can take a shower 2 days after surgery, but refrain from using soap or shower cream on the wound area. Apply a thin layer of Terramycin or Chloramphenicol antibiotic ointment to keep the wound moist, twice a day, morning and evening after taking a shower, until the stitches are removed.
  • Take the prescribed medication continuously until it runs out. There is no need to buy more medication because the medication you have received is sufficient for treatment.
  • In case of taking dietary supplements, it is recommended to take them 3-4 weeks after surgery.
  • Alcohol should be avoided for 1 month after surgery.

Recovery period

  • With the stitching technique of MAXi Cosmetic Surgery’s expert surgeons, the tummy tuck surgery involves 3 layers of stitching to tighten the tummy from the inside. The stitches are detailed, so it can get wet 48 hours after the surgery, making postoperative care easy and recovery fast.

This is because the tummy tuck involves cutting away excess skin and suturing the inner muscles, which will cause the abdominal area to be very tight at first.
  • After 2-3 weeks, you will be able to hold your stomach normally.

Make an appointment to remove stitches and follow up on your symptoms.

  • 1st time 7 days after surgery, appointment for checkup and removal of stitches to reduce tightness.
  • 2nd time 14 days after surgery, make an appointment for a check-up and remove all stitches and make another appointment to see the doctor in 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. After that, once a year or if there are any abnormal symptoms, call to inform the doctor immediately to make an appointment.

Frequently asked questions

  • Problems of excess fat around the abdomen, sagging bellies, and post-childbirth mothers who have stretch marks, very obese people who lose weight quickly will cause the skin to sag a lot. A tummy tuck surgery will help solve these problems. If there is a lot of excess fat around the abdomen, the doctor may consider liposuction as well.
  • The disadvantage of a tummy tuck is that it leaves a rather long scar on the abdomen, which can make some people feel insecure. This problem will be eliminated because MAXi’s expert surgeons will hide the scar under a bikini line. Or, in cases where the patient already has a scar from a cesarean section, the wound can be opened in the same place and the wound can be resurfaced to prevent duplicate scars. Therefore, there is no need to worry about wearing a swimsuit.
  • With MAXi’s expert surgeon’s suturing technique, the tummy tuck surgery uses 3 layers of suturing to tighten the tummy from the inside. The suturing is detailed, so it can get wet 24 hours after surgery, making postoperative care easy and recovery quick.
