  • Men with penises longer than 6 inches can undergo a normal sex change operation. After the surgery, an artificial vagina deeper than 6 inches can be created.
  • Men with medium-length penises of 2-6 inches can undergo a normal sex change operation using the Scrotal Skin Graft technique. After the surgery, an artificial vagina can be made 4-6 inches deeper.
  • For those with a short penis, less than 2 inches, it is recommended to undergo gender reassignment surgery using the intestines, which will allow the creation of an artificial vagina that is more than 6 inches deep.

  • Inform the doctor of your medical history, medications, surgical history, drug allergy history, food allergy history (if you have a history of treatment from a hospital, you should bring it with you on the day of the consultation).
  • Prepare your digestive system by eating soft, low-residue foods 3 days before surgery. Take laxatives 2 days before surgery to cleanse your intestines.
  • Prepare sanitary napkins with loops, red rubber plungers, Dettol, and absorbent pads.

  • Be careful when going up and down stairs and walk slowly and with short steps.

Artificial vaginal dilation (Yangmo)

  • Yammo S, M, L size, 15 minutes each, 3 times a day
  • Morning, noon, evening. Recommendations for the first 3 months: Do the sperm injection 3 times a day, for about 15-20 minutes each time.
  • After 3 months, it is recommended to use Mo Yam 2 times a day, morning and evening (if you notice that your vagina is starting to tighten, you can change to using Mo Yam 3 times a day as appropriate).

Postoperative complications

  • The wound splits in the lower part of the outer labia, which is usually very tight, may split after surgery. It can heal on its own within 1 month without having to stitch up again. However, in cases where the wound is very large, it may need to be stitched up and re-shaped externally, waiting for the swelling to subside, which takes about 8 months to 1 year.
  • Inability to urinate or little urine output. This symptom may occur after the removal of the urinary catheter due to swelling around the urethra. In cases where there is little urine output and a long time passed, when the urethra shrinks the swelling will return to normal on its own. In cases where the urinary catheter cannot be inserted, the solution is to leave the catheter in for another 3-7 days and wait until the swelling subsides before removing the catheter.
  • The vagina becomes shallower. After the initial surgery, the vagina is usually 4-6 inches deep. After 4-6 months of surgery, the vagina is usually about 1 inch deeper as the scar tissue in the vagina heals. In cases where the vagina is very shallow, this can be corrected by performing a colon resection 6 months after the initial surgery.
  • Bleeding and foul odor. During the first 1-14 days after opening the wound, there may be bleeding from the urethra. If there is bleeding, use gauze or a sanitary pad to press on the bleeding area. Generally, the bleeding can stop on its own. If the bleeding does not stop, consult a doctor and wash with a mild soap or baby soap.

Exterior cleaning

  • Use antibacterial soap or mild soap. Do it 2 times a day, morning and evening while taking a shower.
  • After urinating every time, wash with clean water and pat dry from front to back (do not rub the suture wound). Use a cotton swab or cotton swab to check along the outer labia groove after every shower.

Artificial vaginal douching

  • Mix 500 cc. of clean water: 5 cc. of Betadine. Suck up the water with a red rubber plunger and squeeze to flush the artificial vagina until 500 cc. is used up. Do this 2 times a day, morning and evening.

Symptoms that require immediate notification to the clinic

  • Cannot urinate
  • Vaginal bleeding is heavier than normal and does not stop when pressed.
  • Found feces coming out of the vagina

Make an appointment to remove stitches and follow up on your symptoms.

  • 1st time 7 days after surgery, appointment for check-up and removal of stitches outside.
  • 2nd time 14-21 days after surgery, appointment for checkup and removal of all remaining stitches.
  • Make another appointment with your doctor in 6 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months. Then once a year, or if you have any unusual symptoms, call to inform them of your symptoms and make an appointment with your doctor.
